Smith's Tropical Paradise Luau
Vendor: Smith's Motor Boat Service, Inc.
Category: Luau
Location: Hawaii-Kauai
Description:

Over 50 years ago, Grandpa Smith started the family business in this sacred Wailua River Valley. Four generations of the Smith family continue to honor that tradition with the most famous of Hawaiian celebrations.

  • You are invited to share the traditions of our island home and become part of the 'ohana.
  • Taste Kalua pig roasted in the earthen imu oven - Cousin Gary's secret recipe for teriyaki beef. Ono mahimahi and tasty chicken adobo. A family size bowl of poi (which Grandma insists you try).
  • They get some of you up on stage to try some hula moves as dinner winds down.
  • Celebrate the historty that Hawaiian ancestors preserved by passing down songs andchants called mele.
  • You will see the lyrical sway of the Hawaiian hula, the colorful precision of the Tahitian drum dances and the fiery emotion of the Samoan fire knife dance all speak deeply of the people who have come to call Hawaii home.

Admission includes: Garden, cocktails, dinner & show. (Optional tram tour for $1)

Tour the 30-acre gardens before heading to the first event of the evening, the imu ceremony. After hours of cooking in the underground oven, the main course ~ the kalua pig ~ is revealed. Following the ceremony, enjoy an open bar as we serenade you with a variety of songs in the luau hale.

The heart of the luau is the feast an all-you-can-eat Buffet which includes:

  • Kalua Pig
  • Sweet/Sour Mahimahi
  • Teriyaki Beef
  • Chicken Adobo
  • We also insist that you try the poi!

After all the food and drink, we take a short stroll to the torchlit lagoon theater where, through song and dance, we honor cultural traditions of Hawaii and cousins from the Pacific Rim. The lyrical sway of the Hawaiian hula, the colorful precision of the Tahitian Otea and the excitement of the Samoan fire knife dance all speak deeply of the people who are proud to share their own rhythm of aloha with our guests.
